Make Your Own Perfume Workshop
at Brazen Beauty Lounge.
Join us in handcrafting your very own custom perfume oil!
Seriously, how fun is that?!
Grab your girlfriends & bring a bottle of wine for a truly unique night out.
THE CLASS: First we go over a brief explanation of ingredients & alternatives to the toxic chemicals found in typical perfumes.
Then we guide you through scent selection to start experimenting with which scent blends suite you. We help you create the perfume of your dreams through mixing various scents and essential oils.
Lastly, we add an organic oil blend to make the finished product rival the quality of dept store brands. You package it in a cute little dropper bottle and we even make you a custom label!
We save your formula for future refills, too!
Choose from over 60 different phthalate/paraben-free aromas to blend together to bring your idea to life. The sky’s the limit!
Class size is limited to 10 participants, to make sure everyone gets personalized attention.
TIME: Class attendees should arrive at 6:30pm to settle in, get a beverage, chit chat, etc. Class starts promptly at 7pm.
REFRESHMENTS: Please feel free to BYOB (wine or beer, no hard liquor). We have all the supplies like corkscrew, glasses, etc. And would be happy to serve you & your guests so you don’t have to do any work!
YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Our class instructor, Sandria, has over 16 years experience in formulating natural products & is the owner/chief formulator for Brazen Cosmetics. She is fiercely passionate about natural products and treating your skin nicely. You will be in good hands with a pro!
LOCATON: The class will be held in our adorable pink oasis Brazen Beauty Lounge, in downtown Ferndale. It’s in the Ferndale Art Building, downstairs.
Conveniently located right off Woodward Ave, close to tons of great bars and restaurants that you can hit up after the class.

FAQs
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Participants must be 16 years or older with an adult guest. Younger guests are welcome at our pre-teen/teen workshops. No one under legal drinking age will be allowed to participate in alcohol consumption.
What are my parking options getting to the event?
Ferndale has public parking and street parking for $.50/hour, metered until 9pm. On Sundays, parking is free. Please allow extra time to find parking on weekends/evenings, as it’s sometimes busy.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
If we have space, you are welcome! We can’t promise there will be an open seat for that class, however. Ideally, we like to have tickets pre-sold to make sure we have all the proper supplies set up and ready. We keep our classes small, to provide personal attention. Please call us the day of the class to check if we have space.

I’m so excited to let you know of some fun new events happening here at the shop. First off, our new DIY EYE SHADOW class is rocking. It has been a huge hit with the lucky ladies who’ve already gotten the experience!
You can join us and create the eye shadow shade of your dreams with a rainbow of shades and finishes to pick from. Go crazy!
Our Perfume Bar is *almost* ready! I’ve been working on this a while and I can’t wait for you to all see it! Make your OWN signature scent- how cool is that!?!
We will beholding workshops to create your custom signature perfume starting in May. Tickets are limited & will be going fast, so grab yours quick!

Get your brows looking great, ladies! How do those celebs get those perfect arches and shapes? It’s not genetics, let me tell you- It’s a good waxer and makeup artist!
We are super excited to be offering the first of this type of event. A combination service and personal instruction, plus you leave with a goodie bag of products so you can recreate the look at home!
Have your brows been partying a little too hard lately? Fallen of the “Good Brow” wagon? Let us help get you back on your path to fabulous brows!
We will be joined by master makeup artist & brow guru, Fara Julian for an afternoon of fun and education. She will sculpt your brows to their perfect shape for your face. You will be amazed at what a little wax will do- instant lift! Drawing on her 10+ years of experience, Fara will detox your out-of-shape brows into arches worthy of the red carpet! Flawless brows are ALWAYS the best accessory for the season!
Next, Brazen owner Sandi will show you the precise areas to highlight and shade (including helping you select the right brow powder color) on your brow to really maximize the effect.
All the while, get treated to wine and personal shopping assistance from our awesome staff. This is a PERFECT Girls’ Day activity or treat for an over-worked mom in your life.

We are NOW OPEN! After a month & a half of hard hard work, I finally got the doors open. I’ve been busting my ass every day from morning til night and now it’s ready!
Please stop by to see all the hard work. We will be having a big grand opening party soon (when the weather gets a little better lol), so keep an eye out.

The Last Three Days Have Been a Blur
What’s that you say, it’s now 2014? When did this happen??? I’ve been going and going like the Energizer Bunny…
That’s me!
On Dec 31st, I got the keys to our new space (yippeeeeee!). There was SO much left from the prior renter, so my day mostly consisted of moving her stuff outside & mega-cleaning…which is like cleaning but on shit-tons of coffee and showtunes.
The first thing I had to do was put up party lights, since anything can be fun if you call it a party (cleaning party? painting party? dental work party?). Then I hung some suggestive signs in the window warning people about the awesomeness our new store would contain. My left-brained bf would shake his head at the organization of my priorities, but you artsy girls can understand!
Our new space is so much bigger than our current one, so tons more to paint and display. I can’t wait!

I found these fabulous ads from magazines from the 1930s-60s. I’m going to frame them & hang them around the beauty lounge.

Vintage Vanities
I literally have notebooks of ideas for decorating the new space! I love the visual aspects of retail, especially beauty products. One of the main focuses in the new shop will be our makeup bar, complete with three loaded stations where girls can get services by makeup artists or play makeup with all of our products.
We’ve been hunting down vintage vanities for our makeup stations. I’m mega crafty, so they will get a sweet new look with new paint & a vintage faux effect. I love when furniture has its own personality!
There are dazzling displays out there with the vintage twist we are looking for. I’ve been obsessively searching Pinterest for ideas. Check out this board we started. Please feel free to leave your favorite links in the comments for any ideas we need to incorporate into our new store!

BRAZEN BEAUTY LOUNGE- Coming Soon!
Brazen Cosmetics is beyond excited to announce their new makeup bar to open in February 2014.
We are thrilled to be bringing our edgy organic cosmetics & self-love manifesto to the women of Metro Detroit. Brazen Beauty Lounge will be unlike anything our customers have ever seen, it will be a totally interactive store- part makeup salon and part retail. Shoppers will be able to try out all products right there in the store with mini spa treatments and makeup applications.
With the popularity of Brazen’s classes and events, this new space will give more women a chance to experience the fun. We will also have a full-service makeup bar, so you can stop by for a cocktail and makeup application or touch-up before hitting the town. We have some amazingly talented makeup artists on our team that are ready to wow you with all the latest looks.
Our selection of products will really excite the beauty fans out there. Not only are we going to continue to provide the Brazen brand (complete with many new products!), we are excited to bring you some of the freshest indie brands in bath & body care. Our handmade soap & lotion selection will thrill those who love to pamper their skin. Not only that, let us demo our body products right there at our sink! You won’t believe the new soft skin you’ll leave with.
We also are carrying a range of our favorite indie designers of all things feminine & girly, with a vintage twist. Expect to see unique jewelry, purses, clutches, knit wear, tees and more.
This new space is about twice the size of our current showroom, which means tons of space for products and more room for shoppers. We get to have walls and walls of makeup!
We have some killer decorating/display ideas, so stay tuned for that. Think new burlesque meets classic pinup with a creative DIY twist. Â Â
